I waited and waited to get a 3 megapixel camera so didn't convert to digital until March of 2000. Here is my digital camera history

Nikon Coolpix 7900 July 2005 3072x2304 7.1 Nice, small point-and-shoot riding camera. Macro and video modes great. 38-114mm equivalent zoom
Olympus E500 D-SLR December 2005 3264x2448 8 An amazing camera! Lenses: Zuiko 14-54, 14-45 and 40-150, OM 50mm f1.4, macro/close-up filters. Sold to upgrade.
Panasonic DMC-TZ3A May 2007 3072x2304 or 3328x1872 7.1 Great point and shoot riding camera due to 28-280mm equivalent optical zoom and IS . Sold to upgrade.
Olympus E3 D-SLR December 2007 3648x2736 10 Holy shit batman - this camera rocks! In body IS, LiveView w/articulated LCD, splashproof, etc. Lenses: Zuiko 12-60,(review) 70-300, 1.4x Teleconverter
Panasonic DMC-TZ5A April 2008 3552x2368 or 3712x2088 9.1 Just like the TZ3 above, with larger sensor, more pixels, HD (720p) video w/zoom (poor audio) and double the LCD resolution. 10x Zoom 28-280mm. Nice backup camera.
Panasonic DMC-ZS3 June 2009 3648x2736 or 3968x2232 10 Just like the TZ5 above, with larger sensor, more pixels, AVCHD-Lite 720p video w/decent stereo audio and a 12x zoom from 25-300mm. Dropped hard a couple of times - auto-focus sometimes doesn't work, but still usable as a backup.

Panasonic DMC-ZS7 July 2010 4000x3000 or 4320x2432 12 Just like the TS3 above, with GPS, PASM modes and (unfortunately) more pixels on the same sensor.
